Practical application of accumulated thoughts: Words, by Ed Bellman

They can make children look up at the stars in awe, their imaginations struggling
to capture the magnitude of what's really out there. They can steel a man’s
resolve, so that he can do the impossible. They can bring a smile to an old
woman’s face. They can bring hope to a world lost in despair. They can bring the
strongest man to his knees, and the most cheerful man to tears. They can break one's
 will and shatter dreams.

Words bring great fortune and great tragedy. Ones words can cut deeper
than any blade, and leave a scar more painful than any wound. Words have more
power than a thousand suns. Think of this before an insult escapes your
lips. Left unchecked, a physical wound will eventually heal, but an emotional or spiritual
 wound will last forever.

  1. What an important point, Ed. Words can--and do--change the world, for good and bad.
